Rubber Gaskets

Wayne Rubber manufactures custom rubber gaskets for industrial, automotive, HVAC, food processing, and specialty applications. From simple flat gaskets to complex custom-molded geometries, we produce sealing solutions across 12+ elastomer compounds, sourced through a trusted network of rubber compounders, with compression molding, transfer molding, and injection molding all performed in our Wixom, MI facility.

Our engineering team works directly with buyers and designers to develop custom rubber gaskets tailored to your exact dimensions, material requirements, and application environment, from prototype quantities through high-volume production.

Custom Rubber Gaskets — Wayne Rubber

Rubber Gasket Capabilities

  • Compression Molded Gaskets: suited for large, flat, or simple cross-section profiles at medium-to-high volumes
  • Injection Molded Gaskets: tight tolerances, complex geometry, and minimal flash for precision sealing applications
  • Transfer Molded Gaskets: ideal for over-molded inserts and gaskets requiring precise material placement
  • Die-Cut & Flat Gaskets: cut from sheet stock for cost-effective flat profiles and prototype quantities
  • Bonded Gaskets (Rubber-to-Metal): EPDM, NBR, silicone, and FKM bonded to metal substrates for structural sealing assemblies
  • Custom Profiles: any cross-section geometry molded to your drawing with full tooling design and build in-house

Gasket Materials

Material selection is the most critical variable in rubber gasket performance. The right compound depends on your operating fluid, temperature range, pressure, and any regulatory requirements. Wayne Rubber works with a network of established rubber compounders to source the right compound for your application, giving you access to a wide range of standard and specialty grades without being limited to a single supplier’s catalogue.

EPDM

Water, steam, HVAC, outdoor, and UV-exposed applications. The standard choice for water system sealing and weathering resistance.

EPDM Gaskets →
Silicone (VMQ)

High-temperature sealing to +450°F, FDA-compliant food processing, medical devices, and outdoor electrical enclosures.

Silicone Gaskets →
FKM Fluoroelastomer

Aggressive chemicals, fuels, and continuous service to +400°F. For environments where EPDM or nitrile fall short.

FKM Seals →
Nitrile (NBR)

Petroleum oils, hydraulic fluid, and fuel resistance. The standard material for oil-wetted industrial and automotive gasket applications.

Why Choose Wayne Rubber for Gaskets

  • Material Network & Selection Wayne Rubber works with a trusted network of rubber compounders to source compounds across 12+ elastomer families. Material selection is driven by your application requirements. We identify the right compound for your environment, not the most convenient one to supply.
  • Engineering Support Our team engages at the design phase, reviewing geometry, confirming compound selection, and identifying the most cost-effective manufacturing process before tooling is cut.
  • All Three Molding Processes Compression, transfer, and injection molding are all available in-house. We match the process to your part design and volume rather than forcing your geometry into whatever process is most convenient.
  • Consistent Quality Every gasket batch is dimensionally inspected and verified against material specifications before shipment. ASTM, ISO, and MIL test standards supported with full documentation available.
  • Volume Flexibility Wayne Rubber supports prototype quantities through high-volume production runs, structured to your volume without forcing minimum order commitments.
